The North Sydney United Development Squads are designed to develop junior talent in the Under 7 to Under 16 age groups (for boys) and Under 7 to Under 18 age groups (for girls).
What is it?
Under the direction of North Sydney United’s Director of Coaching, this is an intensive program for young players which aims to create a well-rounded footballer.
All training sessions are carefully structured to achieve the correct balance between the technical, tactical, physical and educational components according to the age and stage of development of each player. Our program is designed to identify and nurture young talent with the aim of developing them into better footballers.
We never forget that football is also a sport to be enjoyed and so we create an environment that is social and fun as well as being competitive.
When are games on?
Saturdays. The season is generally aligned with Terms 2 and 3.
What about training?
This is a 25-week program, following the FFA National Curriculum. There are two training sessions a week of 75 minutes each.
All training is conducted by a professional coach with an AFC B Licence. A qualified coach with a Junior Licence will coach the teams on game days.
How much does it cost?
The fee for one season is approximately $1,450.00 and includes:
registration for the competition
affiliation fees to NSFA, Football NSW and FFA
25 weeks of training
one-week school holiday camp (details below).
Also included in the fee is entry to one week of a School Holiday Camp. These Camps (valued at $300.00) are conducted in the January, April, July and September school holidays. If you would like to attend a further week this is possible at a reduced fee for development squad players. The cost of the Camp is merged into the fee as a value-add and can not be deducted from the fee.
Please note that the club reserves the right to change the times and conditions of these camps as necessary.
How do I register?
Trials are held every year, before the start of the season, usually in October or November.
Exact details on how to register for the trials will usually be published on the website and Facebook page in August/September.
